He’s appeared in Dolce and Gabbana and Burberry ads in nothing but his undies, and now Peruvian model and chef Franco Noriega’s food is about to appear at two new restaurants in New York City. Noriega has recently opened the doors on a small Peruvian rotisserie chicken restaurant on the Lower East Side called Baby Brasa. Later this year, a larger version of the restaurant — named simply “Brasa” — will be opening in South Williamsburg.
“I come from a culinary background,” Noriega says. “My parents owned restaurants in Peru and Lima, where I’m from. It’s such a gastronomic capital.”
The food will be similar for both of Noriega’s restaurants. Peruvian rotisserie chicken will be the focus, though sandwiches will be available as well. Seasonal sides and appetizers will include items like quinoa, avocado toast, sweet potato fries, and rice and beans. Everything he serves will be “super clean,” says Noriega. “I like to eat clean and healthy.” It sounds like a model plan to us.
